Do I ABSOULUTELY NEED a heater if my tank is already at 75 degrees?

I keep my room temperature at like 73 degrees and my tank mantians a constant temperature of 74-75 degrees. Everyone keeps moaning and groaning about how i NEED NEED NEED a heater. Do i really?
