Guy Advice?! Seeing a guy who is very hot & cold! Not committed.. Just unexplainable relationship..?

He I feel does things that he knows will irritate me! Before I was very quick to make a big deal out of every text not answered or something he wld say. So now I've tried to pick my battles and not show him those things get to me! Is this right thing to do or cld be considered a push over?!
